Court Street Village West was opened in 1993 and has 106 apartments on three floors. It was financed through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority’s 70/30 tax credit program for providing reduced rents in 30% of the apartments for seniors over age 55 with income levels at or below income of $18,000 to $29,000 per year. The remaining 70% of the apartments are market rate rents. It is located at 700 E. Court Street just off the Downtown exit of I-475 near the Flint Cultural Center.
CSV West is professionally managed by CSV Management Corp, a subsidiary of CSVNP. The management staff is comprised of professionals with degrees in Gerontology, Social Work and Human Development. We take pride in the higher level of assistance our staff provides residents in the area of problem solving the difficult challenges seniors face in getting the appropriate services and help they need to maintain their independence.
CSV West was designed with seniors in mind. The list of amenities includes: the “Main Street" common area that includes a deli, beauty/barber shop, mini-store, a lending library stocked with books, magazines, videos and DVD’s and a recreation room with a pool table, exercise equipment and cable TV. The building also features locked entryways with intercom access and surveillance cameras; emergency pull cords in all bathrooms and bedrooms; and lounges & parlors to encourage gatherings with your neighbors.
We offer a wide variety of floor plans with 1 or 2 bedrooms and 1 or 2 baths and many have balconies or patios. Some apartments have bathtubs and some have walk in showers. You can chose from a kitchen large enough to have a kitchen table or a smaller galley type kitchen area, leaving more room for your living room.
Each apartment comes with kitchen appliances, including: a microwave oven, generous cupboards and a pantry; mini blinds for all windows allowing you the option of adding valances or draperies of your own choosing. For all of your ‘extras’, each apartment has a walk in storage room located in the apartment.
We are proud to offer a large number and variety of social, educational and recreational opportunities. Through a private in-house home health care company, personal assistance with activities of daily living can be arranged. Our professional management staff can help arrange any services a resident needs or wants to purchase. We offer free FAX service and accept all delivery packages in the front office. We have regular deliveries from a local milkman, pharmacy and the US Postal Service is onsite monthly to sell stamps and other products.
The Activity Director coordinates functions on-site such as Bingo, card games, crafts, exercise programs, entertainment, potluck dinners and more. We partner with the Cultural Center to obtain free and reduced price tickets to great programs at the Whiting Auditorium, the Bower Theater, museums and the planetarium. We have a Van for transportation to off-site medical appointments or other errands and a mini bus for group trips to concerts and other planned activities.
